Canada Express Entry Process in 2024

What is Canada & Requires Express Entry System?

Express Entry is one of the most popular ways through which Canada welcomes economic class migrants. Accepting through the express entry system is a two-stage process. At first, candidates must fulfill the basic eligibility criteria under one of the three skilled immigration programs. Prospective immigrants upload their profiles into the portal and get a comprehensive ranking system score based on age, work experience, language skills, education, arranged employment, provincial nomination, and other adaptability factors.

In the second stage, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) holds an immigration draw granting invitations to candidates with the highest CRS scores. IRCC conducts these draws in every two weeks. Once you get an ITA, you may submit a complete application for permanent residency in Canada within 90 calendar days of receiving.

The federal government processes PR applications within 6 months.

How the Express Entry System Works?

Express Entry is an online system that IRCC uses to manage applications for permanent residence from skilled workers.

Step 1: Check your eligibility

In this step, you may either answer a range of questions mentioned on the portal or read the eligibility requirements for each program.

Step 2: Gather your documents

You need a range of documents while creating an expressing entry profile, including language test results, education credential assessment report, and other supporting documents to prove that you are eligible for the immigration program.

Step 3: Submit your profile

Express Entry profile feeds all information about the applicant. If you are eligible, you will be accepted into the pool of candidates.

You’ll be ranked in the Express Entry pool using a point-based system. Your score is based on the information in your profile.

Step 4: Get an invitation and apply for permanent residence

IRCC holds immigration draws in every two weeks of a month. Invitations to apply are sent to the highest ranking candidates in the pool. If you receive an ITA, you’ll have 90 days to submit your application for permanent residence.

IRCC processes most complete applications that have all the supporting documents in 6 months or less.

What documents are required to create an express entry profile?
