Big News!! There are English Language Requirement Exemptions for Engineers Australia Skills Assessment
 
Under the Engineers Australia Authority guidelines, English language requirement must be sufficed before the skills assessment. The authority accepts Language Test report of selected bodies only such as IELTS (General or Academic), PTE (Academic) and TOEFL of IELTS within the last 2 years.
According to the announcement, below applicants may be exempted from the requirement to provide an English language Proficiency test: 
  • Applicants having gained their education in (primary, secondary and tertiary education) and have stayed in the country where English is their official language such as US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Canada.
  • Applicants who attained the Australian undergraduate engineering Degree or Master degree (92 weeks full time) or Ph.D. from an Australian university.

ACT State Sponsorship: 2020’s 1st Invitation round for Canberra Matrix

ACT kick starts the year 2020 with a bang!! Inviting 275 applicants to apply for state sponsorship in the first round. The first invitation round is declared on 9th Jan 2020 and the selected candidates can now apply for Australia PR Visa. Kindly note that, ACT state sponsorship can only be acquired upon submitting the application with Canberra Matrix and can receive an invitation to apply.

VETASSESS Refund Policy for Priority Processing
 
As of January 2, 2020, the updated terms in the VETASSESS Refund Policy will reflect an administration fee of $100 for applications that do not meet eligibility criteria for Priority Processing.
 
General Occupations Update:
 
VETASSESS is currently updating its website to reflect more information related to skills assessment for a number of occupations.
The information will cover all aspects of documentation requirements for various occupations on the VETASSESS website. The website will also indicate details of educational requirements relevant to different occupations, along with factors to consider that differentiate one occupation from another. This is helpful for applicants when nominating an occupation for the skills assessment.
 
DAMA Update
 
In a recent update, VETASSESS announced that it will not provide DAMA Skills Assessment Services for the following occupations:
  • 231212 Ship’s Engineer
  • 421111 Child Care Worker
 
The assessment process for the above-mentioned occupations will be done by Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). Applicants may direct all assessment related enquiries to these two authorized bodies.

South Australia has made significant changes to the following occupation(s) to its Australia Skilled Occupation List:

Northern Territory State Sponsorship Update for Offshore Applicants
 
The Government of Northern Territory now invites Offshore applicants to apply for a state sponsorship only under Subclass 491.
 
South Australia Introduces Changes to Its Occupation List Under Subclass 190 & 491
 
The changes are described as follows:
  • The Dept. of Home Affairs has increased the minimum eligibility points for some specific occupations for offshore applicants.
  • Applicants now must score 75-85 points to qualify. However, for SA graduates and trades workers the minimum point threshold is 65.
  • 85 points have been allotted for Chain Migration category.
  • 95 eligibility points are required for high-points category.
  • There has also been a significant increase in application fee by 10% for all state nomination applications for South Australia. The new fee structure will be implemented on application submitted after 4th December 2019.

Candidates must meet the special requirements as mentioned below to apply for a state sponsorship with South Australia:

Western Australia Updated its Occupational List for State Sponsorship
 
Western Australia introduced some significant changes in its Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List? (WASMOL) and Graduate Occupation List (GOL) to apply under 190 & 491 subclass visa.
 
The major change implies in Graduate Occupation List (GOL) which has now been extended to include VET graduates as well who have completed their education in Western Australia.

South Australia GSM application is now open for 491 & 190 Visas
 
South Australia State has opened the window for the subclass 491 and 190 state nomination applications on its official website. South Australia is among those states the initiated the grant nomination for the eligible candidates. The new subclasses are introduced to channel the newcomers to more regional areas for their development and progress.
 
Dec 3, 2019: Update

South Australia releases new SNOL with changes
 
The state announced the new State Nomination Occupation List with 275 Occupations and Supplementary Skilled List with 223 separate occupations. The list targets the skilled professionals who wish to reside in South Australian regional areas.
 
The changes include:
  • Many occupations are now requiring either 75 or 85 points (including state nomination points) on the Australia points test.
  • With limited number of places available for 190 visa nomination, additional eligibility criteria are now applicable for applicants.
  • There is a 10% increase in application fee for all South Australian state nomination applications.

Australia invites 250 candidates under subclass 189
 
The immigration department of Australia released the latest invitation round that permitted 250 new candidates to Australia. The minimum required Australia Immigration points was clocked at 85. As of now, more than 3250 invites have been granted by the Australian Govt. under the two General Skilled Migrant visas of 189 and 489.
