Canada officially launches New College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Tuesday, November 30, 2021

The Canadian Immigration Minister, Mr. Sean Fraser, greenlit the new College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants. The new institution will be the official regulating body to govern the functioning of every immigration and citizenship consultant. All the consultants must be licensed by the College in order to associate with the IRCC.

The new College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants will be responsible for:

investigating any professional misconduct by the Immigration consultants to ensure an authentic migration mechanism.
Conducting direct investigation by entering the premises of a consultant to gather valuable information.
Directing witnesses to appear and testify before the Discipline Committee of the College.
Issuing court injunctions to the unlicensed consultants providing immigration advice without any authorization.
Introducing new standards for the consultants to complete a new graduate diploma program and an annual professional development requirement and assessment.

Canada is injecting CAD 50 Million into the development of the new College, which will help identify fraudulent activity in the immigration system, strengthen oversight, and protect all immigration aspirants.
